Engagement photos in Santa Cruz - Davenport

Davenport is a small little town just north of Santa Cruz on highway 1. This coastal town on the central coast of California is one of my favorite places to shoot Santa Cruz Engagement Photos. There is so much variety from rocky cliffsides to  glowing sunsets on the beach. There is a location fit for everyone! One of my favorite things to do for engagement photos is get up before sunrise. This way you can go to all the beautiful locations without the crowds. It always ends up being so much fun & I always recommend this to my couples!

Central Coast Engagement Photos

For these Santa Cruz engagement photos with Ariela and John they envisioned something carefree and on the coast. We dreamed up a sunrise engagement shoot in Davenport and I was so excited. Ariela is one of my longest friends and it is very special to see her in love! They are so playful and adventurous together. Ariela has always been fearless, confident and bold and John supports her fire and grounds her. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my friends find their people. 

This sunrise shoot was in December and it was so cold! It’s funny how you can look back and forget how physically uncomfortable you were in that moment and it still ended up being beautiful! Coming home for the holidays always brings a feeling of comfort and nostalgia for me. I currently am based in San Diego but travel up to the central coast often for shoots. These photos feel like that to me because they hold memories of my childhood best friend but also depict her as an adult and in a healthy loving relationship (something we talked and dreamed about constantly as little girls).
